Arriving in Culiacan

When we arrived in Culican we were dropped off at a school and it was decorated for us and Viva La Gente was playing in the basketball court area as students danced to the music.

This was my bus date on the way to Culican from Tepic.... Annaka from Alabama.
My roommate, FINALLY!!!, ended up being Ai from Japan, I was excited I was with an Asian because they are more soft spoken within the group and I was excited to get to know her better. This is a picture of my host mom and three of my host brothers but none of them lived at home anymore... I had one more host brother that lived at home. My host parents were the owners of the school where we had all our meetings and such.
The first night we went out to eat at a Japanese restaurant so Ai could try the Mexican sushi.
The squid appatizer that we were all served.....
Since I do NOT eat sea food I had chicken fried rice and my host brother shared some chiken with me... that was delicious.
Sushi, calamari, sushi.
Host moms sushi..... which smelt horrible and she was sitting right next to me :(.
Me enjoying my meal with chopsticks....LOL.
And YES I did try the calamari (squid) which was stuffed with crab or something.... and YES it was discusting but no one from home that knows me would ever guss that I would have ever put it near my mouth. I could not bring myself to trying the sushi because the smell was just to overwhelming.

A wall in the restaurant that said Peace in many different laguages and many other kind words.
