~Regional Learning~

Friday, July 24th, 2008. Today was our first Regional learning day. To get to know Denver better we had a tour of the state capitol and had a scavanger hunt. Some tasks that we had to do for the scavanger hunt was pose as a baseball team infront of Coors Stadium, play peak a boo with the big blue bear at the Convention Center, and take a picture by a cow. Well we couldn't find the cows that we were suppose to and Frederik from the Netherlands thought that the buffalo were cows so we took a pic with the "hairy cows". You can see those pictures above. The last pic of us is our group riding on the free 16th st mall bus so we didn't have to walk so much. In the pic is Anthony (Michigan), me, Tina (Germany), Kelly (N. Carolina) and Gabe (US, show manager). Then you can see a pic of the Capitol and the mile high mark on its stairs, Denver is known as the Mile high City. The pics of the next two rooms are where the house of reps and congress members meet. The pics of the city line are from the dome of the capitol building. At the end of that day i was walking down the stairs, not paying attention and missed the last stair. The next thing I knew I was falling and I heard a POP. It hurt like hell and I didn't want to get up but Leslie encouraged me to get up and walk on it if i didn't think it was broken. I was so mad because I knew something like this was going to happen to me........ GREAT :(. That night when I got home my host dad called our neighbor to see if they had any ice for me since their fridge went out the night before and there was no room in hte garage freezer for ice. After elevating my ankle for a bit and icing it, my host dad, (host mom is out of town by her sisters for a rummage sale) Clothilde and me went to se Mama Mia in the theater. It was a great movie, even my dad was bouncing in his chair to the movie.
Where I'm headed and where I've been
