OUCH!!!!

So I decided along with my cast mate Kelly to get my nose pierced today! I have thought about doing it in the past but never had the ambition to do so..... but this adventure has given me the courage to do so. It was decided yesterday that today was the day and I became more and more nervous as the day went on. We had no plans of where or when we were going to do it we just planned on figuring it out when our work day was done. I was extremely nervous once we walked up to the place. I filled out the forms and had to take many deep breaths as the girl prepared the equipment. I had to go first because I knew if I had to see it done first I would lose my edge to do it. I sat down in the chair and held onto Clothildes hand. The lady marked my nose, put a clamp on the area and told me to take a deep breath. When I blew out my breath she pushed the needle through my nose. I cannot lie, it hurt! I squeezed Clothildes hand so hard she was shouting that I was breaking her hand and I squeezed my thigh with my other hand. When she was done pushing I thought it was done so I looked into the mirror and saw a 2-3 inch needle sticking through my nose. As soon as

I realized that the earring wasn't in yet I got nervous again. Next she put the stud in my nose and that was a walk in the park compared to the needle. Kelly was next and she kept her eyes closed the entire time because she didn't want to see the needle through her nose. Her nose bled a little bit but mine didn't at all. Both of our eyes watered during the piercing because the nose is a tender spot. Overall, we both agreed that it hurt but it wasn't that bad and we are both glad we did it and love it! Hope everyone back home likes it because no one knew I was doing it, not even my boyfriend ;).

Way around Denver

Every morning my roommate and I have to get from Aurora CO to Denver CO. It takes us about 45-60 minutes to do so. We get up anywhere between 6 and 6:15 am every morning. Clothilde showers at night so she just has to get dressed, clean up, pack her bag for the day and eat breakfast. I get up and shower in the morning. Once I'm showered I pack my bag and then go downstairs to eat breakfast. Everyday I eat a bowl of cereal and usually a glass of orange juice and Clothilde drinks coffee. Then we have about a 20 minute walk to the train station. We walk along the sidewalk, cut through an apartment building parking lot, cut through the parking lot of a grocery store and gas station, cross the 8 lane highway and there we are! We usually catch the H-Line (Nine Mile) train at 7:15am or if we are running a little late we catch the 7:33am train. The train ride lasts 30-40 minutes and usually it is so busy that we find ourselves sitting on the staircase of the door entrances. Most days I spend my train ride talking with Travis, my boyfriend or listening to my I-pod. Clothilde and I don't spend that much time talking to each other because we are both pretty tired still. Once we arrive at 16th and California we get off the train and catch the free mall bus that takes us down the 16th street mall. After the bus we have about 5 blocks left to walk until we get to the Sherman Center, our destination. Sometimes instead of getting off at 16th and California we stay on until 18th and California. When we do that we have about 10 blocks to walk but we don't have to take the bus then. The first two pictures are exterior pictures of the train that we ride. The third picture is what the seats on the train look. The fourth picture is me and Clothilde riding the train home while listening to our music and the last picture is a picture of the free mall bus. Just lately, one of our staff members, Dave Penny, has offered to give us a ride home whenever he can. He saw us one morning walking to the train station and later that day asked if we wanted a ride. He first asked my roommate if we wanted a ride but since her English isn't the strongest she agreed to something she had no idea she was agreeing to. So I had to go ask Dave what he asked her and we straightened it all out. lol. I told her she should not say yes unless she completely understands what shes is being asked or she may end up in a situation she doesn't want to be in..... :). After figuring out what he wanted, we gladly accepted his offer because it cuts out a lot of our walking and some of our time. He picks us up around 7:15am in the morning at our house but sometimes he runs a little late and we have to worry about him forgetting us, but he always comes through ;).

Denver Home

Here is my house in Denver, Colorado. Actually the house I'm staying at is in Aurora, Colorado which is a suburb of Denver. My house is the house on the right, it is connected to another house. The house is very nice, perfect size for my host parents! As you walk in the front door you walk into the living room and on the right are the stairs to go upstairs. The living room has a very high slanted ceining with a fireplace, black leather couch, two black leather (comfortable) reclining chairs, a big tv and a painting on the wall painted by my host father. The theme all throughout the house is very western. Off to the left there are patio doors which leads you to their deck and small piece of lawn. The deck has many flowers, plants and a patio set. Its very cozy out there, but very warm ;). If you keep walking through the living room you will walk into the dinning room, which also has a very high slanted ceiling and to the right of there is the kitchen. The kitchen isn't too big but its nice and meets their needs. If you turn right out of the living room instead of going straight you will enter the den where the computer is and two couches. There is a bathroom, pantry and the garage off of the den. The garage is mainly taken up by their boat... fun fun! As you go up the stairs Clothilde (Belgium) and my bathroom is straight ahead. It has a toilet, sink and a bathtub. It is very nice to have our own bathroom because we are able to keep our own things in the shower and around the sink. If you turn to your right, our host parents bedroom is straight ahead. It is very big and nice. To the right is our bedroom. My roommate and I share a room, and a bed as well. They emptied out the closet and dresser for us to use but so I didn't have to repack my entire suitcase I have been living out of it instead of out of the closet. Our suitcases lay in front of the closet and my carry-on bag and shoes remain under the dresser. Clothilde and I actually share a bed... a little surprising but it works out just fine! I sleep on the left side, closest to the wall where I put my computer, pictures and phone on the floor by me while I sleep. The room can get warm but they gave us a fan and a cooler, which is a fan that you put water in so it puts out cooler air. They work fairly well but are a bit noisy. By the end of the first week, I have become so comfortable here that I think of it as my home ;).

Where I'm headed and where I've been
